Great ski trip

All the people at whistler ski resort were very friendly and helpful. Lots of great restaurants. The slopes are harder than in Colorado. Lots and lots of runs and lifts. The best resort I’ve been to

Whistler Blackcomb still the best resort......

Whistler Blackcomb continues to be our favorite mountain to play with family and friends. Lots of snow, terrain, restaurants, activities, excursions, etc. The list goes on... This mountain resort is plain and simple the best in North American and possible in the world....

A Very Special Place

I have to start with what a great job Bryan did in lining up and booking our trip. We had a conversation about skiing and family and from that he picked three lodging accommodations to choose from. I don’t think I could have found a better fit for us. The location was so great and the staff at the Aspens on Blackcomb was very professional and super friendly and helpful. A true ski in ski out and the ski valet was really a great feature. We loved the skiing, great snow and a great mountain but be prepared for fog. The whole Vancouver area is a very special place and we had fun on the coast as well as visiting the Olympic cross country and biathlon park where you can ski the courses or learn and try Biathlon. All our extras that we booked through Ski.com were set up and ready for us. We had a great time and would highly recommend Whistler, Aspens on Blackcomb and Ski,com.

Very nice

We went two days, the first day was a bit meh due to the weather being very rainy/wet so visibility was near-zero (not the ski resort's fault), but the second day was absolutely beautiful. I enjoyed skiing down the various trails. I really liked going up to the absolute peaks.

Whistler's ice

This is a great mountains with lots of varied terrain. I know it can get icy because of the lower elevation and closeness to the ocean. Well this trip there was ice and crunch, though snow machines in certain areas did help. Of course it snowed the night before we left! I did not expect such long lift lines. Blackcomb side seemed less crowded. I liked that I could store my rental skis near the slopes. The Peak to Peak gondola has an experience. We ate at some great restaurants. The village lights were a delight.

Rain & fog

Whistler is famous for big vert & terrain, but it's hard to ski them when you can't see them. Bring your gore tex to Whistler for sure. The fake apes ski parties at the base area bars were lame, bad 80's music & $9 canned bears. Lots of shopping & dining options in the village. Plenty of terrain to ski for all skill levels. The village has the worst parking situation of any ski area. Visited Jan 30 to Feb 4 2018.

Whistler

Love this mountain. So much terrain could ski here for weeks and not get bored. The weather is the only issue but there is lot's up high so there is always something to ski.

Whistler has something for everyone. Should you want someplace a little more compact and cozy check out Creekside, Whistler's original base area. it is fabulous and really under appreciated. If you want to learn a little bit about the First Nation culture - check out the Squamish Lil'Wat Cultural Center in Village North across from the Fairmont. Or if you are feeling a little more aventuresome and need a ski break - take a zipline tour or two. I have now done both the Eagle and the Bear which operate during the winter months.

Whistler is one of the rare ski resorts that will comfortably accommodate anyone. From 5 star lodging to more affordable condo options. From families to young adults looking for a great club scene. The slopes vary widely from easy beginner terrain to expert skiing. There is something for everyone! If you are not a skier you can always take a trip to the Scandinave spa or spend your days shopping, visiting museums or site seeing. Think of Whistler for your next ski trip, there is something for everyone!

When you hit it right, Whistler is absolutely the best ski resort in the world.  I have been to Europe, I have been to South America and I live in Colorado.  We received 40 plus inches in the week I was there in March.  It was in centimeters so I may be underestimating it a little.  All I know is that it was deep everywhere. I snowboarded the first day with our excellent guide, Steve,  who works with the mountain.  He took us on some excellent blue runs in the morning on the Whistler side with our group of 9.  We then flew on the Peak to Peak gondola to the Blackcomb side in a matter of minutes where this used to take 2 hours or more.  Some of the group split off and we did Spanky's Ladder and another run called the Chimney were a hike of less than 10 minutes got us to untracked terrain and descents that were super steep.  Comes out to a long cat track and you have to take two lifts to get back to where you started but well worth it.  On Day 2, I switched to skiing, we had a half day with Steve and explored the mountain a little more eventually getting to Dusty's in Creekside, a hidden local's gem of a bar.  We saw lots and lots of condos and hotels in between the skiing so call me to talk more about that.  I stayed a little longer than my co-workers and that is when the snow started to fall in earnest.  On Day 3 of skiing I only went in the afternoon because the morning was rain and basically unskiable .  The afternoon it turned to snow again and we found untracked snow everywhere.  Day 4 the skies opened up and only a few inches fell at the resort so we had booked a heli trip and got the green light.  5 runs of heart stopping excitement.  This is another post...another time....Day 5 in Whistler was epic.  Another 7 inches and the Blue Sky Stormy day.  As in, blue skies into white out conditions and back and forth like that probably 3 or 4 times.  This day was better than the heli if you can believe that.  I could go on and on.  But that is how the trip ended.  We flew out of Vancouver Sunday morning.  Stayed at the Fairmont Airport hotel.  The best place to get a jump on the long security lines to get back to the states....

I stayed the 2nd part of my trip at the Coast Blackcomb.  It was a perfect hotel for some.  Budget, breakfast, ski in and out, great hot tub scene.

Call me to book for next year!

Whistler is one of those resorts that offers great skiing and a vibrant town full of restaurants, shopping and nightlife.  It is a huge mountain with great skiing for all levels.  The beginner area is located mid-mountain, which means new skiers get to take the gondola up instead of just being at the base.  There is plenty of wide open intermediate terrain, and there's great expert terrain that you can hike to or find right on the mountain.  Town has so much to choose from: everything from casual dining to sushi to fine dining.  They also have lots of original shops that you won't find anywhere else and some more well known shops also.

You can also choose from many additional activities like zip-lining, spa trips and heli-skiing.
