Pire Hue & Cerro Catedral Are Wonderful
We had a really amazing experience and recommend very highly both the lodge and ski area .
Weather bad / Cerro Catedral customer service worse
If I could leave a ZERO star rating I would. The weather which is out of everyone's control was really bad even though we were in the middle of ski season. Snow coverage was poor throughout the mountain and probably should have been closed on one or more days of our ski pass which ran from 7/12 to 7/14. Cerro Catedral would not offer an exchange (for a later date), a credit, or a refund. Their attitude was "if one trail is open", the mountain is open and too bad. Customer service like this would last one minute in the United States and the mountain would close in one season! Feel bad for people who have little or no other choices to ski - thankfully, we have so many great choices in the US and I will NOT travel to South America to ski again. Only reason I was there was to visit my daughter who was studying abroad in Buenos Aires and feel blessed and fortunate that I got to spend quality time with her. The town of Bariloche is quite nice, especially the town centre and the scenery throughout this area is spectacular. Too bad the ski experience did not match the great rest of the trip!
